The ADASL (Atlanta District Amateur Soccer League) is significant in soccer history in metro Atlanta. It was founded in 1967, a milestone year that also saw the birth of the Atlanta Chiefs, Atlanta's first professional soccer team. The coaches and players of the Chiefs, driven by their passion for the sport, played a pivotal role in establishing this league. Their aim was simple yet profound- to ignite a love for soccer in the local community. The ADASL, the first of its kind in the region, is also the oldest member of the Georgia State Soccer Association.

In 1979, Datagraphic won the National Amateur Cup by beating the San Francisco Glens in front of a home crowd at Atlanta's Fulton County Stadium. Datagraphic's success created a national reputation for the ADASL, which competed in five National Cup finals, eleven Regional Cup finals, and nineteen State Cup finals over 22 years.

Following the structure of competitive adult leagues worldwide, the ADASL has one primary season of eighteen games that runs from the end of September into the spring. We do not have post-season playoffs, making every game during the season critical. The ADASL is a promotion-relegation league. All new teams start in our second division and must earn promotion to the first division. As a result of the primary season, the top two teams in Division 2 receive promotion, while the bottom two teams in Division 1 relegate.

The ADASL is a competitive adult soccer league for experienced players. Most Division One players played high-level college soccer or the equivalent in their home country. Division Two players excelled in youth soccer and played throughout high school and college.
